Theodor Heinrich Bäumer
Heinrich Bäumer (born February 25, 1836 in Warendorf , † April 26, 1898 in Dresden ; full name Theodor Heinrich Bäumer ) was a German sculptor .
Life
Heinrich Bäumer was born in Warendorf in Westphalia as the son of a master carpenter. He was initially trained as a modeller by his father. He studied from 1856 to 1862 at the Dresden Art Academy , where he became a student of Wilhelm Schwenck . From 1866 to 1868 Bäumer went on a study trip to Italy . From 1869 he worked as a freelancer in Dresden with his own studio. In Dresden, Bäumer became a member of the Masonic lodge To the three swords and Astraea to the green diamond . He created a larger than life bust of King Albert of Saxony , which earned him the appointment of royal Saxon professor. Bäumer died in Dresden in 1898 and was buried in the Johannisfriedhof .
