Wilhelm Fahlbusch (theologian)

Wilhelm Fahlbusch (born October 8, 1929 in Göttingen ; † August 9, 2014 ) was a German Lutheran theologian , pastor and professor of systematic theology, from 1979 to 1985 rector of the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover .

Life

Wilhelm Fahlbusch was vicar in the Protestant student community in Göttingen from 1957 to 1960 and graduated from March 15. Until March 17th, 1960 the 2nd theological exam. On April 3, 1960 Fahlbusch was in the Ev.-luth. St. Martini Church in Dransfeld ordained pastor by state superintendent Lothar Stark. From May 1, 1960 he was pastor of the Ev.-luth. Bremke parish near Göttingen with the additional mandate to organize leisure time and seminars for members of the Federal Border Guard.

For his move to Hanover in the post-war period he and his family took up an apartment in Ahlem in an eight-family house in a new housing estate on Am Lebersood , from where he regularly drove to his main duty station at the men's factory in Wedekindstraße. In 1962 he was called to work in men's work and from September 1, 1963 he was appointed as the state social pastor of the Hanoverian regional church and was also a member of the study management of the Evangelical Academy Loccum. From 1968 to 1978 Fahlbusch was chairman of the Church Service in the Working World (KDA) in the EKD. In 1973 he became head of the planning staff for the Diakonie and Religious Education department at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Hanover, where he was professor for systematic theology and social ethics from 1974. From 1976 to 1979 he was also Vice Rector and 1979 to 1985 as Rector of the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover, in which capacity he was a member of the German University of Applied Sciences Conference. From 1990 to 1995 he was head of the institute for practical research at Ev. University of Applied Sciences. He had been retired since 1995. He was a member of the Hanover regional synod . From 1985 to 1991 Wilhelm Fahlbusch was a member of the EKD Chamber for Education. From 1977 to 1991 he was the editor of the magazine "Embassy and Service Magazine for Adult Education" of the EKD's men's work.

Wilhelm Fahlbusch was a board member of the Evangelical Social Academy Friedewald .

For his 90th birthday, Faculty V of the University of Applied Sciences, Professor Dieter Weber, planned in connection with the ecclesiastical service in the world of work in the House of Church Services of the Regional Church of Hanover and the director of today's House of Church Services Pastor ir Hans Joachim Schliep under the title Wilhelm Fahlbusch - thinking further in April 2020 a symposium that has to be postponed due to the Covid-19.
