Wilhelm Grotkopp

Wilhelm Grotkopp (born July 22, 1900 in Kiel , † May 17, 1972 in Düsseldorf ) was a German business journalist .

Life

Grotkopp received his doctorate in 1924 at the law and political science faculty of the University of Kiel . He was a foreign correspondent and business journalist at Ullstein-Verlag and from 1930 to 1932 as editor of Europa-Wirtschaft (then discontinued).

During the time of National Socialism , Grotkopp was loyal to the state and worked as a theoretician of official state doctrine in matters of large-scale European economy . In conformity with the Nazi regime, he commented on questions of living space and large-scale economy , for which “racial” aspects should apply, among other things.

After the Second World War he was Düsseldorf's chief correspondent for the United Business Services GmbH (VWD). In 1966 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany.
