Wilhelm Jännicke

Wilhelm Jännicke (* as Carl Edgar Heinrich Wilhelm Jänicke March 4, 1863 in Frankfurt am Main ; † March 20, 1893 there ) was a German botanist and university professor.

Life

In 1884 Jännicke wrote his dissertation at the University of Marburg . On October 1, 1889, he was given the botany lectures at the Frankfurt Senckenberg Institute . Jännicke also worked as the second librarian for the Senckenberg Foundation . On April 22nd, 1892, Jännicke presented his habilitation thesis on the sand flora of Mainz at the Grand Ducal Technical University in Darmstadt and in the same year received the license to teach botany, which he exercised as a private lecturer . In his short life - Jännicke died at the age of only 30 - he made mainly himself throughbotanical works have a name.
