Wilhelm Kiel (born February 16, 1850 in Minden ; † March 12, 1932 in Uchte-Hamme ) was a German merchant, landowner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Kiel attended the Realgymnasium zu Minden and completed commercial training in Bremen , Magdeburg , Brussels and London . From 1875 to 1901 he was a co-owner of the FC Kiel company in Minden, and then also worked in agriculture on Gut Hammerberg near Uchte . He was first lieutenant in the Landwehr, city councilor of Minden and a member of the district council in Minden.

From 1912 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Minden 1 Minden , Lübbecke and the Progressive People's Party .

His daughter was the painter and sculptor Edith Meyer von Kamptz (1884–1969).

There is a Wilhelm-Kiel-Straße in Uchte.
