Wilhelm Klingenberg (architect)

Wilhelm Otto Emil Klingenberg senior (born June 21, 1850 in Görlitz ; † April 30, 1910 ibid) was a German architect and city architect who worked in Austria.

Life

Wilhelm Klingenberg was the son of a Prussian music director. He studied from 1875 to 1877 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Theophil von Hansen . Then he was assistant to Friedrich von Schmidt . In 1882 he got the master builder license and worked in Vienna, Lower Austria and Bohemia. One of his employees was the architect and town builder Ludwig Schwanberg, another was Matthäus Bohdal, for whose building company he was responsible from 1890 to 1896. Klingenberg was a member of several architects and builders' associations and belonged to the Hansen Club from 1903. As part of this, he completed a study trip to Greece.
