Wilhelm Josef Korak (born July 19, 1974 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian politician (formerly BZÖ ). From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Carinthian state parliament .

education and profession

Korak attended the elementary school in Brückl and then switched to the secondary school in Brückl. He finished compulsory school at the polytechnic course in Sankt Veit an der Glan and subsequently completed an apprenticeship as a butcher, attending the vocational school in Klagenfurt. He did his basic military service with the Austrian Armed Forces and was also a regular soldier. Professionally, he was active as a warehouse manager and in sales at Röhrich, he also worked as a branch manager for Hofer KG and was regional manager for Carinthia and Styria for Fressnapf . Most recently he was the federal and state manager of the BZÖ.

politics

Korak switched to politics at the beginning of April 2008 and took over functions in the organization of the BZÖ Carinthia and the BZÖ federal organization for the 2008 National Council elections. He then worked on the organization of the state and local council elections in 2009, where he was a local councilor himself Brückl was chosen. In the course of the split of the BZÖ at the end of 2009, Korak remained with the BZÖ and was subsequently appointed federal and Carinthian state manager, where he was federal manager from 2010 to mid-2011. Korak then ran for the 2013 state election and was sworn in as a member of parliament on March 28, 2013. Together with Johanna Trodt-Limpl, he formed the BZÖ interest group Carinthia, since no club status was possible due to the small number of mandates, and he was the representative of the interest group. In addition, he was also the BZÖ regional representative of Trodt-Limpl.

Shortly after the 2013 state elections, differences arose between the two BZÖ members of the state parliament and the federal BZÖ, and in autumn 2013 Korak was finally expelled from the federal BZÖ after criticizing alliance chairman Josef Bucher . In July 2017, he left the Carinthian BZÖ together with Johanna Trodt-Limpl.

Korak lives in a community and lives in St. Filippen .
