Wilhelm Ludwig Bardili

Wilhelm Ludwig Bardili (born June 17, 1668 in Tübingen ; † December 3, 1740 in Heilbronn ) was Mayor of Heilbronn from 1734 to 1740 .

Life

Wilhelm Ludwig Bardili is a grandson of the Württemberg personal physician Carl Bardili (1600–1647) and his wife Regina Burckhardt, whose many important descendants include the Swabian poets Ludwig Uhland and Friedrich Hölderlin . He is the son of the Tübingen professor Burckhard Bardili (1629–1692) and his wife Justina Eckher.

Bardili enrolled on May 5, 1686 at the University of Tübingen and studied there and then at the University of Altdorf , law .

Wilhelm Ludwig Bardili married the young pastor's widow Anna Catherine Tempfel (1674–1743) on March 12, 1694 in Bebenhausen . This marriage gave birth to 16 children, but ten of them died in childhood. Their daughter Catherina Justina (* 1695) married Hofrat Philipp Jakob Vischer, their daughter Sibilla Martha (1703–1735) married the Heilbronn patrician Ulrich Friedrich Becht (1699–1777) and their daughter Maria Magdalena (* 1707) married the Reichshofrat Johann Friedrich Harpprecht von Harpprechtstein. Their son Wilhelm Ludwig the younger (1709–1745) embarked on a military career.

Bardili and his wife Anna Catherine Tempfel settled in Heilbronn after their marriage , where Bardili applied for citizenship , which he was immediately granted. From 1699 Bardili belonged to the small, inner patrician council of the imperial city of Heilbronn. From 1719 he was tax master there and from 1727 mayor of the city. After several mayors of Heilbronn died in 1733, Bardili was given the office of third mayor and within a year he was given the office of second mayor.

So far, nothing has been known about historically significant decisions during his term of office in Heilbronn. Wilhelm Ludwig Bardili died of dropsy in 1740 . He was laid to rest in the cemetery on Weinsberger Strasse .
