Wilhelm Reuter (born September 26, 1859 in Karlsruhe , † November 17, 1937 in Nuremberg ) was a German genre , portrait and landscape painter .

Life

Reuter first studied architecture at the Karlsruhe Polytechnic and at the Karlsruhe Art School under Ferdinand Keller . During his studies in 1883 he became a member of the Germania fraternity (now Teutonia ), and in 1885 a connoisseur . In 1886 he lived at Leopoldstrasse 8 in Karlsruhe. Study trips abroad followed. From 1894 to 1896 he lived in Pforzheim , and from 1899 he worked in Bamberg . Afterwards he worked as a wall painter in Franconian Switzerland and Nuremberg . From 1906 to 1932 lived in Nuremberg. He was a member of the Albrecht Dürer Association and the Nuremberg Art Cooperative .

Reuter was awarded the medal for art.
