Wilhelm Riedel (writer)

Wilhelm Riedel (born December 18, 1933 in Arheilgen ; † February 10, 2018 ) was a German writer and poet .

Career

He grew up in Darmstadt and, after completing a commercial apprenticeship, found access to literature and music . He graduated from high school at night school and then studied literature and philosophy . From 1966 until his retirement in 1999 he taught German , Latin and social studies at the Ludwig-Georgs-Gymnasium in Darmstadt .

He was also a member of several municipal parliaments.

Since 1977 his literary focus has been political, mostly critical poems , later also philosophical and religious subjects. In addition, Riedel wrote short stories and novels .

Wilhelm Riedel was a member of the interest group of German-speaking authors (IGdA), the Association of German Writers (VS), the Society for Contemporary Poetry , the Friends of the Düsseldorfer Buch '75 eV and the organizers of the Kulturkreis Himmelgeist.
