Wilhelm Rocco

Friedrich Wilhelm Rocco (born March 22, 1819 in Bremen , † October 19, 1897 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German actor and author.

Life

Wilhelm Rocco's father, François Rocco, came from Genoa and was a riding instructor and head stable master for a French ambassador. When he died in 1831, Wilhelm Rocco was sent to the orphanage. From 1838 to 1849 Rocco was an actor a. a. active in Jever , Aurich , Hamburg and Halle (Saale) . Then he was a dance teacher in Halle, from 1847 in his apartment, from 1849 at the Royal Pedagogical Center of the Francke Foundations . In 1857 he received the title of university dance teacher, which he held until the end of his professional career in 1884.

Wilhelm Rocco married Marie Louise Rocco, born on March 22, 1849. Palmié. The marriage had four children: Emil (born 1850), Valeska (born 1852), Charles (born 1854) and Selma (born 1856). Rocco was Curt Goetz 's maternal grandfather .
