Wilhelm Runtsch (born January 19, 1921 in Radigau near Kaaden , Czechoslovakia ; † August 20, 1977 in Lahn - Gießen ) was a Hessian politician ( BHE , CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

Wilhelm Runtsch did military service in the Air Force from 1940 to 1945 after attending elementary school, community school and secondary school in Kaaden (Eger) . After the war he studied law in Marburg an der Lahn and became a member of the Corps Rhenania there . After the two state examinations in law, he was initially a lawyer in Gießen and then a lawyer at an employers' association. From 1956 he worked for the state of Hesse . Since 1958 he was with the Hessian road administration and from 1960 legal advisor of the road construction office Hessen-Mitte in Gießen.

Wilhelm Runtsch had been a member of the NSDAP since April 1, 1944 ( membership number 10.057.068).

Until 1962 he was a member of the BHE and then the CDU. From 1968 to 1977 he was district chairman of the CDU Gießen-Stadt. In Gießen he had been a city councilor since 1960 and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since 1964.

From December 1, 1970 to May 24, 1977 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament. The population's resistance to the regional reform in Hesse was particularly pronounced in Central Hesse. In the city ​​of Lahn , which was artificially formed from Gießen and Wetzlar , the Union achieved a landslide victory in the local elections in Hesse in 1977 . In the city of Lahn, the CDU achieved an increase of 30.2 percentage points and came to 50.7 percent. In 1977 Wilhelm Runtsch was elected Lord Mayor of the city of Lahn. Klaus Peter Möller was his successor in the state parliament.

Wilhelm Runtsch has worked in various functions for many years since the association of expellees was founded.
