Klaus Peter Möller (born August 8, 1937 in Darmstadt ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Gießen in 1957 , Möller studied law and political science in Bonn , Munich and Würzburg . He passed the first state examination in law in 1960, attended the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer since 1963 and completed his studies in 1965 with the second state examination. He then worked as a lawyer in Gießen, and since 1977 also as a notary.

Möller was a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn until he left in 2004 and gave lectures to the German fraternity .

Political party

Möller is a member of the CDU. 1986/87 he was chairman of the CDU Giessen.

MP

From 1972 to 1999 Möller was a member of the city councils of the city of Gießen and the city of Lahn , in 1979 its chairman. He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from May 24, 1977, when he replaced the retired MP Wilhelm Runtsch , until 2003. From 1982 he was the parliamentary spokesman for domestic affairs in the state parliament, from 1983 to 1988 chairman of the internal committee and 1987/88 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1988 he was chairman of the committee of inquiry into the "Hanau nuclear affair".

Möller was President of the State Parliament from July 28, 1988 to April 5, 1991 and from April 5, 1995 to April 5, 2003. His predecessor, Jochen Lengemann , resigned as president of the state parliament in 1988 after the debate about the failed diet increase in the Hessian state parliament. After the CDU was defeated in the state elections in Hesse in 1991 , he was vice- president of the state parliament from 1991 to 1995.
