Wilhelm Ruprecht Frieling (born May 29, 1952 in Bielefeld ) is a German non-fiction author, publisher and producer. He became known with the company Frieling-Verlag Berlin as a publication service provider for self -publishing authors . He lives in Berlin-Südende and also writes under the pseudonym Prince Rupi .

Life

Frieling grew up in Oelde . At the beginning of 1969 he moved to West Berlin , where he worked as a journalist after training as a photographer and editor. He published in German and US magazines such as Börsenblatt des Deutschen Buchhandels, Westermanns Monatshefte , Memo, Der Feinschmecker , The New Yorker and others. a.

On February 1, 1983, he founded the advertising and publishing company Frieling & Partner GmbH , which he operated until December 16, 2002. He developed the company under the slogan "Verlag sucht Authors" into one of the most famous German cost publishers and published more than ten thousand texts by new authors in compilations and yearbooks. Three thousand other works appeared in individual books. Journalist Henryk M. Broder rated his program in Spiegel magazine as “the weirdest, most original and most individual publishing program far and wide”.

Since January 1, 2006, Frieling has been running the open online forum Literaturzeitschrift.de and the Internet book publisher.

Frieling produces u. a. the actor and voice morph Stefan Kaminski . For the production of the Ring des Nibelungen with Kaminski ON AIR on DVD, he received the German Record Critics' Prize in May 2013 .

Frieling is one of the co-founders of the Selfpublisher-Verband eV and has been the deputy chairman since it was founded.
