Wilhelm Tacke

Wilhelm Tacke , (born August 28, 1938 in Verl ) is a German educator , historian and writer based in Bremen .

Life

Tacke graduated from high school in Wiedenbrück in North Rhine-Westphalia. He studied pedagogy at the Pedagogical University in Paderborn .

Since 1962 he worked as a teacher at the St. Marien School in Bremen- Walle . From 1969 to 1974 he was a teacher at the German School of the Borromean Sisters in Alexandria . In 1977 he became headmaster of the Catholic St. Joseph School in Bremen- Oslebshausen and in 1982 headmaster of the Catholic St. Marien School in Bremen-Walle. From 1987 to 2008 he worked as a public relations officer for the Catholic community association in Bremen. As a historian and local researcher, Tacke writes in many areas. Since spring 2017 he has been working as a lecturer at the Academy for Continuing Education at the University of Bremen. His topics are mainly Bremen, the Catholic church history of Bremen and the like. a. m.

Tacke lives in Bremen and is married.

Memberships

From 1978 to 2008 Tacke was a freelancer for the Osnabrück Church Messenger . He represented the Catholic Church from 1982 to 2008 in the Broadcasting Council of Radio Bremen , where he was chairman of the radio committee for educational programs and youth radio from 1985 to 1996 and chairman of the television committee from 1996 to 2008. From 1988 to 2013 he was the Catholic chairman of the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation in Bremen and at the same time its managing director. Since 1994 he has been chairman of the Lower Saxon People's Association , Bremer Heimatbund . As chairman, he was also a member of the Federal Council for Nedderdüütsch, in High German: in the Federal Council for Low German until 2011. Since 1985 he has been a member of the Rotary Club Bremen-Roland. He was its president from 1995 to 1996. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Ansgar guild in Bremen. He was chairman in 1993 and 1994 and from 2016 to 2018. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Lower Saxony Round of 1900. Since 2010 he has been its "chief". He also represented the Catholic Church in the Monument Council until 2011 and is still a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cathedral Museum and the Society for Church History in Bremen.
