Wilhelm Wiggenhagen
Wilhelm Wiggenhagen (born December 28, 1955 in Schwelm ) is a German politician ( non-party ). From 2009 to 2015 he was the full-time mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Ennepetal .
Life
Wilhelm Wiggenhagen grew up in Ennepetal-Altenvoerde. The parents ran a third generation bakery in Altenvoerde. He attended the Reichenbach high school in Ennepetal and then trained as a local civil servant at the Schwelm district administration . After the training, which he completed in 1978, he became a clerk in the main and personnel office of the city of Ennepetal. From 1982 to 1990 he was the city's press spokesman under the mayors Harald Wolf , Friedrich Döpp and August Born. He then worked in the Office for Real Estate and Economic Development, first as Deputy Head of Office and six months later as Head of Office. Since 1993 he has been part-time managing director of the start-up and technology center (ZET) in Ennepetal. After merging various departments of the city of Ennepetal, he became head of the real estate and economic development department in 2000, and was also responsible for building management. From 2005 he was head of the new urban development and economic development department. From December 2008 he was First Alderman of the City of Ennepetal.
Wilhelm Wiggenhagen is married and has two sons.
Mayor's office
As an independent candidate for the CDU , he was elected mayor of Ennepetal in the local elections on August 30, 2009 with 42.2 percent of the valid votes as the successor to Michael Eckhardt , who was also a non-party candidate for the CDU. He did not run for the mayoral election in 2015; he had previously announced his retirement. His successor was Imke Heymann , also as a non-party candidate .
