Michael Eckhardt

Michael Eckhardt (born March 26, 1949 in Schwelm ) is a German politician ( non-party ). From 1998 to 2009 he was the first full-time mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Ennepetal .

Life

After training at the city of Ennepetal with subsequent positions within the city administration in the senior administrative service, Eckhardt was first deputy from 1995. After he was appointed mayor on June 18, 1998 by the city council of Ennepetal to succeed Gerd Dessel ( SPD ), he won the elections in 1999 and 2004 as a non-party candidate of the CDU . He stood for mayoral election on August 30, 2009 no longer on. He had already announced this in September 2008. His successor was Wilhelm Wiggenhagen , who was sworn in on October 21, 2009 and held the office until September 22, 2015. On December 17th, 2009 Eckhardt was appointed honorary mayor of the city of Ennepetal. This honor had previously only been given to the former mayors Walter Sondermann , Friedrich Döpp and Gerd Dessel.

Michael Eckhardt is married and has two children.
