Imke Heymann (* 17th July 1973 as Imke Schmidt in Leipzig ) is a German politician (independent). She is the current full-time mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Ennepetal .

Life

Imke Heymann attended the Polytechnic High School "Kurt Kresse" in Leipzig- Großzschocher until 1990 . She then completed an apprenticeship as a retail clerk at the Kaufhof department store chain . From 1993 she worked as a clerk in retail. She continued her education with various advanced training courses: first-time salesperson (1996), assistant department head (1997 in Würzburg ), trainer (1998), department manager (2003 in Cologne ), compact course at the FernUniversität in Hagen (2003 to 2005) and human resources (2008) . Since 2012 she has worked as the head of strategic personnel development and vocational training at Galeria Kaufhof GmbH, since January 2015 she has been managing director of Galeria Personalservice GmbH, a Kaufhof subsidiary, and since May 2015 head of personnel development and vocational training at Galeria Kaufhof.

In 2013 she married the head of the Office for Information Technology of the City of Wuppertal as well as party manager and parliamentary group chairman of the CDU Ennepetal and moved to Ennepetal.

She has been a member of the sports committee of the city of Ennepetal since 2014 and was a member of the committee for urban development and economic development until her election as mayor. From 2013 to 2020 she was a member of the CDU. For her second candidacy, she is supported as a non-party candidate by the CDU, SPD and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.

Mayor's office

For the 2015 mayoral election in Ennepetal, she was nominated as a member of the CDU, the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , the Free Voters Ennepetal and the FDP as a joint candidate. She won the election on September 13 with 51.39 percent of the valid votes and a turnout of 42.7 percent. She is the successor to Wilhelm Wiggenhagen (non-party), who went into retirement.

For the 2020 mayoral election in Ennepetal, she was set up as a joint candidate by the CDU and SPD and is supported by Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.
