Wilhelm Zobus
Wilhelm Zobus (born January 31, 1831 in Geisenheim , Duchy of Nassau ; † June 4, 1869 there ) was a German landscape and genre painter and lithographer .
Life
Zobus went to Düsseldorf and took private lessons from the landscape painter Carl Friedrich Lessing . He then moved to Munich and enrolled on November 11, 1848 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in painting. He first settled in Munich, where he worked as a lithographer, and later in Wiesbaden . As a painter he created late romantic landscapes, often depicting architecture, as well as genre paintings.
