Wilhelm Leutold Heinrich Meyer , von Meyer from 1865 (born December 11, 1816 in Berlin ; † September 10, 1892 there ) was a Prussian district administrator and member of the German Reichstag . He was general director of Neumark and the Land-Feuer-Sozietät. On July 1, 1865, he was raised to the nobility by King Wilhelm I. He was also the master of Helpe.

Life

origin

The Meyer family comes from Pomerania, where the ancestor Heinrich Meyer was court and court pharmacist in Stettin as early as 1700 . The parents were Johann Karl Heinrich Meyer and his wife Sophie Gottliebe Gebike .

Career

Meyer attended various high schools in Berlin and the universities of Halle , Berlin and Bonn . In Bonn he became a member of the Corps Borussia in 1838 . After completing his studies, he was a trainee lawyer in Wriezen and Frankfurt (Oder) from 1840 to 1845. On March 12, 1846, he bought Gut Helpe from the bailiff Ohmann for 31,780 thalers and was district administrator in Arnswalde from 1846 to 1884 . He was a member of the Arnswalder District Assembly, the Brandenburg Provincial Parliament, the Provincial Committee, and the Prussian House of Representatives from 1849 to 1853, 1870 to 1873 and from 1877 for the constituency of Arnswalde-Friedeberg. Meyer was the owner of a manor in Helpe in the Arnswalde district and was ennobled in 1865.

From 1890 until his death he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Frankfurt 1 Arnswalde , Friedeberg and the German Conservative Party .

family

He was married twice. On November 23, 1846 he married Marie Auguste Treumann in Freienwalde (* December 7, 1819 - † July 2, 1864). The couple had the following children:

  • Richard (born July 22, 1848), Premier-Lieutenant
  • Michael Johannes (born August 19, 1851 - October 12, 1895), district administrator in Arnswalde ⚭ November 30, 1888 Martha Booth (born October 3, 1864)

After her death, he married Anna Klementine Barth on November 25, 1865 (* June 19, 1839; † December 6, 1906). The couple had the following children:

  • Maria (November 9, 1866; † 1929) ⚭ October 10, 1889 Rudolf Havenstein , Privy Finance Councilor, President of the Reichsbank (1857–1923)
  • Heinrich Robert (born December 3, 1868; † April 10, 1940), royal Prussian district administrator November 2, 1907 Eveline Charlotte Eva Friederike von Schroeder (born November 19, 1879; † September 2, 1945)
