Will Haven are an American metal band formed in Sacramento , California in 1995 .

Band history

In the summer of 1997, El Diablo was released, the band's first CD . After that, Will Haven played in the USA and in some European countries with the Deftones , Tura Satana , Far , Slipknot and Limp Bizkit , among others . The band became particularly popular in Great Britain.

After a year of concert tours, WHVN released their second album in the summer of 1999. After this in the magazines Kerrang! and Alternative Press was positively reviewed, the band went on tour again with well-known groups such as Soulfly , Fear Factory and Slipknot.

Shortly afterwards, Will Haven had to look for a new drummer and found him in Mitch Wheeler. The third CD Carpe Diem (2001) followed. At the same time, a video clip made by Trainwreck Productions for the song Carpe Diem , in which the Deftones singer Chino Moreno has a leading role, will be released.

After a few concerts in the United States and the United Kingdom , the band played for the last time in 2002. A year later, shortly before the band split up, the DVD Foreign Films appeared , on which the complete last concert and film material of the last concerts.

After the band ended, the members joined other projects: Ghostride , The Abominable Iron Sloth and Death Valley High emerged .

At the end of 2005 Will Haven reported back, shortly afterwards the band played live in the USA and in March 2006 in Great Britain. Meanwhile, the members were working on a new album. Grady Avenell, who had announced his resignation from the band, could not be heard. Avenell was replaced by a longtime friend of the band, Jeff Jaworski of Red Tape .

Will Haven then played again as the opening act for the Deftones on their European tour.

The fourth full album of the band The Hierophant was released on June 19, 2007 via Bieler Bros. (including Nonpoint , Skindred and SikTh ). It was produced by Shaun Lopez (Ex- Far , The Revolution Smile ) and Chino Moreno .

In 2009 singer and founding member Avenell returned to the band. Another studio album followed in 2011 with Voir Dire , and in 2015 the band released an EP with Open the Mind to Discomfort .
