Will Sheff
Will Sheff (born July 7, 1976 in New Hampshire ) is a guitarist and singer from Austin , Texas and front man of the independent band Okkervil River .
In 2001 he founded the band Shearwater with Jonathan Meiburg , also a member of Okkervil River , in which he no longer takes part. In addition to his engagement with Shearwater and Okkervil River, Sheff writes and plays many songs as a solo artist, of which there is only one single release. In addition to his work as a songwriter and singer, he plays guitar, banjo and harmonica .
Sheff attended Kimball Union Academy , a private school, and Macalester College majoring in English in Saint Paul , Minnesota . He also performed with The Mendoza Line on the duet Aspect of an Old Maid and played the piano on the band Palaxy Tracks' album Cedarland .
Will Sheff is currently producing a new album with singer / songwriter Roky Erickson and the band Birth of Youth .
