Willard Carroll

Willard F. Carroll (born November 12, 1955 in Easton , Maryland ) is an American film director , film producer , screenwriter and animator .

Life

Carroll was executive producer of the series The Brave Little Toaster and wrote the scripts for the two sequels The Brave Little Toaster Flies to Mars and The Brave Little Toaster as a Savior in Need . He wrote and directed the horror - Adventure Anthony 3 , the romantic episode film Life and love in LA , Tom's Secret Garden (film adaptation of Philippa Pearce's children's book When the clock struck thirteen ) and the Bollywood -Nachahmung Marigold . ForLiving and Loving in LA Carroll was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 1999 Berlinale .

He co- founded the production company Hyperion Pictures with Thomas L. Wilhite, a former Disney executive who approved Oz - A Fantastic World . The studio published, among others, Thumbelina & Thumbelina , The Story of the Teddy That Nobody Wanted , Rover & Daisy and Bébé's Kids .

Trivia

Carroll is a passionate fan of the fictional world of Oz . He owns what is believed to be the largest private collection of Oz memorabilia in the world. Parts of it have been featured in several books, including The Wizard of Oz Collectors' Treasury and All Things Oz . Among other things, Carroll owns the Hourglass of the Wicked Witch of the West from the 1939 MGM film . He wrote and produced several films in the Oz Universe and the TV series The Oz Kids .
