Willi Neuenschwander

Willi Neuenschwander (born September 21, 1929 in Rottenschwil ; † October 11, 2003 in Oetwil an der Limmat , resident in Langnau im Emmental ) was a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

education and profession

Neuenschwander grew up in the Aargau municipality of Berikon . He graduated from business school , became a salesman and later attended higher technical school . As a federal dipl. He was a businessman at the BBC . In 1959 he took over the Weber hardware store in Schlieren .

As President of the Cantonal Trade Association of Zurich (1979 to 1993), member of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce , President of Elektrizitätswerke Zürich , and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Swiss Power Plants and Usego , Neuenschwander had influence on various institutions.

Political career

Between 1967 and 1983 Neuenschwander was a cantonal councilor in the canton of Zurich for the farmers ', trade and citizens' party , and from 1971 for the Swiss People's Party . In 1982 he was elected to the District Council of Zurich and had a seat there until 1998. On November 28, 1983 he was elected to the National Council and did not leave the Grand Chamber until December 3, 1995.
