Willi Pohl (writer)
Willi Pohl (* 1944 ) (pseudonym EW Pless and since 1979 also the official name Willi Voss ) is a German writer .
In the 1970s, as a neo-Nazi and member of the PLO, he procured weapons for Palestinian terrorist attacks.
Life
Pohl grew up in the Ruhr area. Before writing, he worked as a worker, librarian and journalist. In the 1970s he was a member of the German neo-Nazi scene with ties to the criminal milieu and to Palestinian liberation and terrorist organizations. The contact was established by the neo-Nazi Udo Albrecht , with whom Pohl had been friends for a number of years. As a PLO member, he organized weapons for Palestinian terrorist squads in Germany.
Pohl helped the terrorist of the Palestinian organization Black September Abu Daud in the planning and execution of the Olympic attack , according to his own information, ignorant. After the attack, he was picked up at the end of October 1972 with weapons and a threatening letter from Black September . “Despite the overwhelming evidence, Pohl was sentenced to two years and two months imprisonment in 1974 only for illegally possessing weapons. Four days after the judge's verdict, the terrorist accomplice was free again and fled to Beirut . ”Decades ago, Pohl broke away from terrorism.
In December 2012, Der Spiegel reported that, according to his own account, Pohl had been spying on the headquarters of the PLO secret service as an agent for the CIA since 1975 . Under the code name Ganymede, he is said to have provided information on attacks in the Middle East and Europe and on the cooperation between the neo-Nazi Udo Albrecht and his accomplices with the Palestinians.
After a stay in the Middle East, he wrote as a freelance writer, mostly under his current name Willi Voss, but sometimes also under the pseudonym EW Pless, Western stories and Jerry Cotton novels, as well as a number of detective novels and political thrillers. a. have been published by Bastei-Lübbe and Ullstein Verlag .
He also wrote script templates for films in the series Großstadtrevier and Tatort (including Stoever's Fall and Singvogel ).
For his novel opponents he was awarded in the Konsalik novel prize competition. With the book Das Gesetz des Dschungel (The Law of the Jungle) , he received third place in the national evaluation of the German crime prize in 1989 .
