George Francis William Child-Villiers, 10th Earl of Jersey (born February 5, 1976 in Jersey ), known professionally as William Villiers , is a British peer , film producer , actor and writer .

Education and career

Jersey is the eldest son of guitarist George, Viscount Villiers and his second wife, Sacha (nee Valpy). He went to Mount House School , Tavistock , Devon ; Canford School, Wimborne, Dorset , and the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama . After his father's death on March 19, 1998, he temporarily held the courtesy title of Viscount Grandison (in line with family tradition that an heir is alternately called Viscount Villiers or Viscount Grandison ). In August 1998 he inherited the title of Earl of Jersey from his grandfather , including the associated seat in the House of Lords . However, he lost the latter in November 1999 when the reform of the House of Lords came into force . Lord Jersey is the patron of several charities, but his primary interest is in the sport, particularly rugby. In 2008 he founded the Lord Jersey Rugby Cup for school rugby up to the age of 16.

Family seat

In 2007 the Earl of Jersey put the family home at Radier Manor up for sale for £ 12.5 million , along with some land and 70 acres (280,000 m²) in Jersey , but the offer was later withdrawn.

On August 16, 2003, he married Marianne Simonne De Guelle, a daughter of Peter and Jeannette De Guelle, in St Martin de Grouville , Jersey. With her he has three daughters and a son:

  • Lady Mia Adriana Marie Rose Child-Villiers (born December 28, 2006)
  • Lady Amelie Natasha Sophia Child-Villiers (born April 14, 2008)
  • Lady Evangeline Antonia Adela Child-Villiers (born February 9, 2011)
  • George Henry William Child-Villiers, Viscount Villiers (* 2015).

He is a second cousin of actor Bart Ruspoli .
