William Hood Treacher
Sir William Hood Treacher KCMG ( December 1, 1849 - May 3, 1919 ) was the first British colonial governor of North Borneo .
Before Treacher took office as governor on August 26, 1881, his office was temporarily housed in Labuan . Apparently there were differences with the governor there, whereupon the office was transferred to Kudat . He held the governorship until 1887. This was followed by residencies from 1892 in Selangor and then from 1896 in Perak . From 1901 he was General Resident of the Federated Malay States and was retired in 1904. In 1914 he headed seven companies in Southeast Asia.
