William Andrew Kinderman (born November 1, 1952 in Philadelphia ) is an American musicologist and pianist .

Life

Kinderman studied music and philosophy at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and later in Vienna the same subjects at the University of Music and the local university . He studied musicology at Yale University and the University of California at Berkeley . He was a professor at the University of Victoria in British Columbia , Canada , and now teaches at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign . His research focuses on Beethoven , Mozart and Wagner .
