William Michael Cosgrove

William Michael Cosgrove (born November 26, 1916 in Canton , Ohio , United States , † December 11, 1992 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Belleville .

Life

William Michael Cosgrove received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Cleveland on December 18, 1943 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 12, 1968 Titular Bishop of Trisipa and Auxiliary Bishop in Cleveland. The Bishop of Cleveland, Clarence George Issenmann , ordained him episcopally on September 3 of that year ; Co- consecrators were John Francis Whealon , Bishop of Erie , and Harold Robert Perry SVD , Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans .

On August 30, 1976, Pope Paul VI appointed him. to the Bishop of Belleville . The inauguration took place on October 28 of the same year.
