Albert Rudolph Zuroweste

Albert Rudolph Zuroweste (born April 26, 1901 in East St. Louis , Illinois , United States , † March 28, 1987 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Belleville .

Life

Albert Rudolph Zuroweste received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Belleville on June 8, 1924 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him Bishop of Belleville on November 29, 1947. The Bishop of Peoria , Joseph Henry Leo Schlarman , donated him episcopal ordination on January 29 of the next year ; Co-consecrators were John Cody , auxiliary bishop in Saint Louis , and Maximilian Mueller , coadjutor bishop of Sioux City .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On August 30, 1976, Pope Paul VI. his age-related retirement.
