William Yorzyk

William Albert Yorzyk (born May 29, 1933 ) is a retired American swimmer .

At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne , he was Olympic champion in the 200 m butterfly . This made him the first gold medalist over this route. In his career he set a total of eleven world records . In 1971 he was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
