Willian José de Souza , called Amaral , (born October 7, 1986 in Goiânia , Goiás ), is a Brazilian football player . The right foot is used alternatively as a defensive midfielder or central defender .

Career

Amaral started his career at Goiás EC . Here the player also made the leap into the professional squad. On April 30, 2006 he was substituted on in the Série A game against EC Juventude in the 83rd minute. The first Série A goal of his professional career he scored on June 17, 2007 in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2007 against Palmeiras São Paulo . His first appearance at international club level was at the Copa Sudamericana 2007 . In the game against Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte on August 17th, Amaral played through from the start.

In 2015 Amaral moved to Palmeiras São Paulo . That year he won the Copa do Brasil with Palmeiras . He was loaned out again after the first season. In 2016 he played for Coritiba FC and in early 2017 he joined Chapecoense . On March 2, 2017, the club announced that Amaral had suffered a knee injury. Amaral's downtime was estimated at half a year. In October 2017, Amaral played his first league game again. After his contract expired at the end of the 2017 season, he signed a new contract with Chape for 2018 in October 2017 .
