Willie Hoel (born June 16, 1920 in Oslo ; † June 15, 1986 ibid) was a Norwegian actor .

Career

Hoel made his debut at the Trøndelag Teater in Trondheim in 1948 as Georg in the play The dirty hands ( Smutsiga händer ) by Jean-Paul Sartres . From 1951 to 1952 he was then employed at the Riksteatret in Oslo and then from 1952 to 1956 and from 1956 to 1958 at the Folketeatret . From 1958 to 1959 he was at the Edderkoppen teater and from 1959 he performed regularly at the Oslo Nye Teater . He had his most famous appearances in the theater with the title role of Ludvig Holberg's comedy in Jeppe vom Berge ( Jeppe på Bjerget ) and in the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaws as Alfred Doolittle and in the drama "Die Niederlage" ( Nederlaget ) by Nordahl Griegs , where he played the courbet. Hoel was a character actor especially in classical and modern comedies, which was also his specialty.

He was also involved in many other Norwegian film and television productions. He played in more than 40 films, mainly in comedies, such as in 1959 in Fjols til Fjells and 1957 in Stov auf Hjernen . He had other important roles in the film Jul i Skomakergata with his appearance as a master baker and in Stompa & Co as fire chief Mathiesen. In the Norwegian versions of the Olsenbande film series, he played the host Christian Hansen of Cafe Lefsa in two films and later other roles in other films in this series. Before he died, he had his very last appearance in the television series For Tors Skyld in 1983 .

family

Hoel's father was CEO Karl Thorkildsen and his divorced wife, Karen Marie Hoel , was his mother. Since 1954 he was married to the dancer and actress Aase Borlaug (* 1929).
