Willis Quiz Quark Club

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Willis Quiz Quark Club is a quiz show on German television that is produced by the company megaherz film und fernsehen on behalf of Bavarian Radio . There are currently 80 episodes. The premiere was in 2004. It is aimed at children between 6 and 14 years of age.

Concept of broadcast

The moderator Willi Weitzel asks the studio audience, consisting of two school classes from two cities, several questions about terms from different areas of general knowledge, but also bizarre questions. The three members of the Willis quiz team on stage present two wrong and one correct solutions to these questions and outbid each other in explanations that are as convincing as possible, but also curious. In the first few seasons Thomas Schürmann was a regular on the stage team, at the moment there are always three different people, most of whom are known from children's television, such as Tanja Mairhofer , Armin Maiwald or Ralph Caspers .

procedure

The game is played in three rounds, the last one containing a quick experiment or a guessing question. In the previous seasons there were four and five questions respectively. There is also an interlude, the so-called “Pauker Pisa”, in which the two class teachers are tested: they have to answer a question written in mirror writing in the shortest possible time; especially in the area of current pop culture, they are sometimes dependent on the "whisperings" of their students.

criticism

The employment of 9Live presenter Thomas Schürmann in a children's program is extremely questionable. Critics see it as an advertising platform for the competition channel 9Live and a belittling of the allegations of fraud in call-in competitions by the Bavarian broadcasting company. The BR has so far declined to comment on this.
