Willy Reiber
Willy Reiber (born February 20, 1895 in Munich ; † November 28, 1980 there ) was a German set designer , film director , film producer and television producer .
Life
After training as an interior designer, he came to film in 1919 and, as chief architect, was responsible for setting up the film site in Geiselgasteig . In the years that followed, he designed the set design for productions by the local Emelka , but also for Alfred Hitchcock's second German film Der Bergadler .
In addition, Reiber took over the direction several times. In 1933 he went to Berlin, where he concentrated primarily on managing production for various clients. In this role he was involved in the Rühmann film Five Million Are Looking for an Heir and in the politically motivated production Titanic .
After the war he turned completely to the new medium of television. From 1953 until his retirement in 1960 he was head of production at ARD , after which he worked for the establishment and development of television production for Bayerischer Rundfunk . He is buried in Munich's Ostfriedhof . His niece is the presenter Carolin Reiber .
