Willy Spilling
Willy Spilling (born September 18, 1909 in Nuremberg ; † August 14, 1965 ibid) was a German composer with a doctorate in musicology .
Life
From March 15, 1948, Spilling headed the music department in the Studio Nuremberg (now Studio Franken ) of the Bavarian Radio . He engaged Kurt Edelhagen as the leader of an in-house big band (1949–52) and promoted the performance and documentation of Franconian folk music . In the classical field, he founded the series Musicalisches Tafel-Confect (from 1952, for early music ) and made numerous world premieres of new music possible . In addition, he worked a. a. together with the Franconian State Orchestra .
Willy Spilling's estate is in the Nuremberg City Library .
