Willy Telavi

Willy Telavi (born January 28, 1954 on Nanumea ) is a Tuvalese politician and former Prime Minister of his country.

Telavi studied law at the University of the South Pacific and Charles Darwin University . From August 2006 to August 2011 he was Interior Minister in Tuvalu. On December 24, 2010, he succeeded Maatia Toafa as Prime Minister of his country. On August 1, 2013, he was dismissed by the governor general , and the following day his government was overthrown by a vote of no confidence in parliament.
