Koloa Talake (born June 7, 1934 , † May 26, 2008 in Auckland ) was a Tuvaluan politician. He was Prime Minister of the country from December 2001 to August 2002 after winning a vote of no confidence in his predecessor Faimalaga Luka .

During his reign he negotiated, among other things, the leasing contract for the country's top-level domain ( .tv ) with the US provider idealab , which has guaranteed the poor country regular income ever since.

In 2002, under his coordination, together with the heads of government of Kiribati and the Maldives, a complaint was filed against the governments of the USA and Australia for their refusal to ratify the Kyoto Protocol . The rising sea level as a result of the greenhouse effect poses an existential threat to the three island states.

After Talake had lost in parliament in elections his seat in 2002, he moved with his children to Auckland ( New Zealand ).
