The Lauterstein wind farm is a wind farm in Baden-Württemberg that was built in 2016 and was developed and projected by wpd . Wpd and the Alb-Elektrizitätswerk from Geislingen an der Steige cooperated in the implementation.

16 wind turbines of the type General Electric 2.75-120 with an output of 2.75 MW each, a rotor diameter of 120 meters and a hub height of 139 meters are used. This results in a total height of the systems of 199 meters. The forecast annual standard energy capacity of the 16 wind turbines in Lauterstein is 120  GWh , which corresponds to the annual electricity requirements of 34,000 households. The network operator responsible is Netze BW . The grid connection point is located in a substation in Schalkstetten .

The wind farm was inaugurated in September 2016 in the presence of Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann .

The actual yield of the wind farm in 2017 was 93,050 MWh and thus only 78% of the original forecast.

At the end of 2016, three more wind turbines of the same type were built in the same forest in Bartholomä . The operator of the Falkenberg wind farm is Stadtwerke Heidenheim .
