Winterfylleth is an English Pagan Metal - band from Manchester . It is named after the Anglo-Saxon month name for October or the Germanic winter night festival that takes place on this tenth full moon .

history

The band formed in 2007 with the intention of "honoring England's rich culture and history". The EP Rising of the Winter Full Moon, which was specially released in the founding year, attracted the group's attention in the English black metal underground and the label Profound Lore Records drew the attention of the group they signed. At the time of the winter night 2008, the debut album The Ghost of Heritage was released . Unrestrained Magazine named the album one of the best 25 albums of 2008. In 2009 the band made some line-up changes, so that the founding trio Richard Brass left the group and the bassist Westby, who had only been engaged the year before, left the group , and Mark Wood joined the group as the new lead guitarist . In 2010 they signed a new contract with Candlelight Records .
