Vitaly Olehowytsch Kalinitschenko ( Ukrainian Віталій Олегович Калініченко ; born August 9, 1993 in Vorokhta ) is a Ukrainian ski jumper .

Career

Vitaly Kalinitschenko made his debut on December 20, 2008 at an FIS Cup competition in Štrbské Pleso , Slovakia , where he immediately achieved the points as 29th of 55 jumpers; since then he has been regularly competing in the FIS Cup, with his best result so far being an eleventh place in Râșnov, Romania on October 1, 2016. In addition, Kalinichenko also regularly competed in Nordic combined at the beginning of his career . Although he was able to convince in this discipline on a national level and become Ukrainian champion in 2012, among other things, he only achieved Continental Cup points internationally in the 2012/13 season .

Having also in early 2014 in the Nordic Combined World Cup tried, including a World Cup team sprint on January 12 in the French Chaux-Neuve and an individual World Cup competition on January 17 in Seefeld , he made his debut on August 1, 2014 in the Polish Wisła in ski jumping -Continental Cup , but only finished 46th out of 52 participants.

At the 2015 Winter Universiade in Štrbské Pleso , he took 35th place. After failing to qualify for the actual competitions at the 2015 World Championships in Falun, Sweden and 2017 in Lahti, Finland , Kalinitschenko made it into the competition on the large hill on the large hill at the 2019 Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld in Tyrol , where he finished 42nd . For the competition on the normal hill he could not qualify as 53rd in the qualification. Ukraine did not take part in the team competitions.

In the summer of 2018, Kalinichenko became Ukrainian ski jumping champion in Vorokhta . He was able to repeat this success in the same place in March 2019. At the beginning of the 2019/20 Continental Cup season , Kalinichenko reached the points for the first time in almost two and a half years when he finished 17th in Shchuchinsk, Kazakhstan .
