Volodymyr Mykolaiowytsch Boschtschuk ( Ukrainian Володимир Миколайович Бощук ; born August 3, 1982 in Verkhovyna ) is a former Ukrainian ski jumper .

Career

Boshchuk jumped for the Verkhovina ski club. He was mainly active with Oleksandr Lasarowytsch and Vitaly Schumbarez in the World Cup and the Continental Cup . Boschtschuk was for the first time in the 2002/2003 season at the Nordic World Ski Championships and took part in the 2005 Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf . In 2006 he was on the squad for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin , but could not qualify for the finals either on the normal or on the large hill. In the 2006/2007 season he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo . He finished 35th on the normal hill, but could not qualify for jumping on the large hill.

It was not until the 2007/2008 season that he achieved his breakthrough with Oleksandr Lasarowytsch, who was two years his junior. At the World Cup competition in Klingenthal on February 11, 2009, Boschtschuk was the 29th to collect his first World Cup points. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , Boschtschuk was 44th on the normal hill and 28th on the large hill. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , he was eliminated in jumping on the normal hill as 50th after the first round. In qualifying on the large hill, he was 46th and failed to qualify for the final.

After the 2010/11 season he ended his career.
