Career

Lazarovych jumped in the national team for Ukraine since 2003. He had his first international jumping at an FIS race on January 17, 2003 in Tarvisio . On February 15, 2003, he started jumping in the Continental Cup . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme he was in the team for Ukraine, but was only able to take 13th and last place with the team. On December 1, 2007, Lasarowytsch jumped his first World Cup competition in Kuusamo , Finland . However, he could not reach the final round and only finished jumping in 50th and thus last place. More competitions followed, but none of them made it into the 2nd round. That is why Lazarovych continued to jump in the Continental Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo in 2007 he was again a member of the Ukrainian ski jumping team. However, as in the 2003 World Cup, the team was only able to achieve 13th and last place. At the Ski Flying World Championships 2008 in Oberstdorf , he was able to reach 38th place with a jump of 165.0 m. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009 he reached 38th place in jumping on the normal hill and 49th place on the large hill. He did not take part in the team competition because Ukraine did not field a team.

On February 8th, 2009 he was able to collect the first World Cup points for a Ukrainian ski jumper in 13 years with the 28th place at the opening competition of the FIS Team Tour 2009 in Willingen , after Wolodymyr Hlywka last achieved a World Cup point in February 1996.

At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Lasarowytsch retired from the normal hill as 48th of the qualification. In the qualification on the large hill, he was 43rd and failed to qualify for the final.

He ended his career after the 2010/2011 season. Lazarovych becomes a trainer at a sports school in Vorokhta.

Oleksandr Lasarowytsch is a student at the Ivano-Frankivsk University .
