Wladimir Anatoljewitsch Burmakin ( Russian Владимир Анатольевич Бурмакин , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Vladimir Burmakin ; born June 6, 1967 in Murmansk ) is a Russian chess player . In 1993 he received the title of International Master and has been a Grand Master since 1994 .
Life
Burmakin studied at the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Construction . He lives in Ivanovo .
successes
His best result at Russian individual championships was shared third place in 1994 in Elista , and he won the Moscow Open in the same year together with Yevgeny Najer . In 1995 he won the Tschigorin Memorial in Saint Petersburg , and in 1997 the 4th Karl Wagner Memorial Tournament in Graz . In 2000 he won the 11th Casino Open in Seefeld in Tyrol , and in 2001 again the Graz Karl Wagner memorial tournament . In 2003 he won the tournament on the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city of Saint Petersburg, the Staufer Open in Schwäbisch Gmünd and the Open in Cappelle-la-Grande . At the 20th Bad Wörishofen Chess Festival in 2004, he finished second behind Aloyzas Kveinys, tied on points . In 2006 he won the 5th Ciudad tournament in Dos Hermanas and the 27th Open in Béthune . In 2007 he won the Staufer Open for the second time . In 2008 he won the BDO Premier tournament in Haarlem and for the first time the Bad Wörishofen chess festival , in 2009 the 11th International Chess Open in Salou and again the Open in Béthune. In 2010 he won the Chess Festival in Castione della Presolana , the Open in Balaguer and the Malta Open in Buġibba . In 2011 he won the 28th Böblinger Open , 2012, the 20th Open in Montcada i Reixac and 2013, the 15th Open the city of Padua .
He played club chess in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s in the Russian team championship for OShK Murmansk , Debiut-DVGU Vladivostok and Universitet Beloretschensk . For the first time for a non-Russian club he played in the Spanish team championship in 2009, for Binissalem . In Germany he has been playing for the lower class chess friends 90 Spraitbach since the 2016/17 season . Burmakin is a professional chess player and lives in Ivanovo .
He is an expert on the Caro-Kann defense , which he almost exclusively plays in his games against 1. e4; against 1. d4 he usually chose the Tschebanenko variant of the Slav Defense until 2015 .
