Vladimir Ivanovich Trofimenko

Vladimir Ivanovich Trofimenko ( Russian Владимир Иванович Трофименко ; born March 22, 1953 in Syzran ; † 1994 ) is a former Russian athlete who competed for the Soviet Union. With a height of 1.85 m, his competition weight was 73 kg.

In 1976 Trofimenko won his only Soviet championship in pole vault . In 1977 he was third at the Universiade with 5.5 meters . At the European Indoor Championships in Milan in 1978, he won silver with 5.40 meters behind the Pole Tadeusz Ślusarski with 5.45 meters. In the summer of 1978 at the European Championships in 1978 he won 5.55 meters in front of the Finns Antti Kalliomäki and Rauli Pudas . At the European Indoor Championships in Vienna in 1979, he won bronze with 5.45 meters behind Poland's Władysław Kozakiewicz and his compatriot Konstantin Wolkow . In the summer of 1979, after 1977, he was again second in the Soviet championship.

His personal best of 5.61 meters comes from 1978.
