Vladimir Pavlovich Ovchinnikow ( Russian Владимир Павлович Овчинников ; born January 2, 1958 in the Bashkir ASSR ) is a Russian classical pianist.

Live and act

Ovchinnikow won top prizes at both the International Tchaikovsky Music Competition in Moscow (1982) and the International Piano Competition in Leeds (1987).

He is a professor at Moscow's Tchaikovsky Conservatory and visiting professor at Sakuyo University in Japan. In 2005 he was honored by Russian President Putin with the title of People's Artist of Russia and in 2011 he was chairman of the jury of the International Rotary Music Competition in Moscow. In the same year he was appointed director of the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory.
