A Pillow of Winds is a piece of music on the 1971 music album Meddle by the British rock band Pink Floyd . It's the second track on the album.
Text and music
A Pillow of Winds is a very calm piece, dominated by acoustic guitars , which deals with the topic of love . It follows the powerful instrumental work One of These Days, characterized by electric basses , and was created by the band as a relaxing balance for the listener. A Pillow of Winds is untypical of a Pink Floyd piece , both in terms of its theme and its musical style. The lyrics are from Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters , guitarist David Gilmour contributed the music. The title of the piece was inspired by a move in the Chinese game Mah-Jongg .
