background

Cassette More (1969)

Recorded in March 1969 in just eight days and released July 27, 1969, More Pink Floyd was the first complete soundtrack to a film. It was also the first album without Syd Barrett .

Some of the pieces are recordings of music already composed for the film, which Pink Floyd reinterpreted after seeing the raw version of the film for the first time. In some of the pieces you can tell that they are only intended as background scenery. Some pieces (for example cymbaline ) were also played by Pink Floyd in concerts.

The band looked at the work on the soundtrack retrospect as a pleasant change from the previous approach because their record company EMI , the music More deemed as a special project and the band had a free hand.
