description

Time is the only track on the album composed by all four band members. It is characterized by a long introduction with the sound of the ticking of various clocks, which changes into their simultaneous ringing, striking and ringing. The recordings were recorded quadrophonically by sound engineer Alan Parsons in an antique shop and mixed for the album . These recordings are backed up by Nick Mason's Rototoms and Roger Waters ' electric bass .

David Gilmour and Richard Wright share the vocals . In addition to the approximately two-minute intro, a guitar solo that is mixed with a lot of echo stands out. During the stanzas the tempo of the piece of music is 128 BPM , it is halved to 64 BPM for the chorus - with the note Moderately with half time feel . The piece ends with a reprise of the title Breathe from the same album.

The beginning of the piece, when bells are used, is a reminiscence of the beginning of Klingklang (1972) by the Kraftwerk group .
