Wladislaw Witenko (born March 18, 1995 in Ridder , Kazakhstan ) is a Kazakh biathlete .

Career

Wladislaw Witenko took part in international competitions for the first time as part of the Junior World Championships 2013 in Obertilliach . There he reached a 20th place in the individual and a 12th place with the relay. At the Junior World Championships next year he was able to achieve a top ten position with a 10th place in the sprint, in the subsequent pursuit he was 13th and just missed the podium with a 4th place with the relay. In 2015, a 15th place in the individual and a 14th place in the relay were his best results at the Junior World Championships .

In the 2015/16 season he started in the IBU Junior Cup and was able to achieve top ten results in the last two sprints of the season in Martell . Also in this season Witenko started at the Junior World Championships but only came in the pursuit in the top twenty of an individual race.

In the 2016/17 season Witenko started in the IBU Cup for the first time and was 140 in the overall standings. This season he also had his first World Cup appearance and was 100th in the sprint. His first race at the world championships was the individual at the world championships in Hochfilzen . At his only start in these world championships, he finished 84th.

He started the 2017/18 season almost continuously in the World Cup and achieved his best placement with a 47th place in the sprint in Kontiolahti . There, together with Galina Vishnevskaya , was ninth in the single mixed season. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he was 79th in sprint, 83rd in individual races and 17th in relay.
